Our Little Trees
Our little trees are like us, somehow created the same from the ground up, but they can be shaped in different ways.

How it all began...
… 3 days before Christmas.
The basic idea originated in the form of a 1.80-meter-tall wooden slat tree when, a few years ago, I wasn't allowed to visit my family for Christmas and all the shops were closed.
Christmas without my family and without a tree – off to the woods to steal one – NOPE.
I scoured the internet and came across wooden trees. Money was tight, so simply buying one wasn't an option. Besides, time was running out.
So I started searching and figuring out how I could build such a tree. I managed to snag three slatted bed bases on eBay Kleinanzeigen and picked them up that same evening. I asked a friend if he could build me a base and cut a steel rod to size – and he did!
Now the brainstorming began… how to cut the slatted bed bases, what length?
Because they were different types of bed bases, it was tricky, but with the right help, it was done in no time. Even when sawing 111 slats together, I needed a little help. The next hurdle was – how to drill those 111 holes with a 15 mm diameter without a Forstner bit… Not exactly something you'd have lying around at home. After a moment's thought, I dialed the right number and was able to pick up the necessary bit.
I had two days until Christmas Eve and went down to the basement to start drilling. But, as expected, everything went wrong – a power outage, the drill bit wouldn't go through the wood, and after 30 slats, I was completely exhausted…
Luckily, a savior came along and built me a stand for the drill. After 60 slats, my landlord came into the room and asked what I was doing, so I explained. He immediately pitched in and helped me sort and carry everything upstairs until I got to the very last slat.
Stacking 111 slats with hardly any variation in size, in the correct order, puh, but we laughed and I just thought to myself:
"At first I was standing there alone with my idea, and in the end I had many helping hands, great people, and despite the rather modest situation, a cool time."
Since then, this tree stands in my living room throughout the year – sometimes decorated, sometimes not – and in 2023 I thought I would like to share this joy – in miniature, namely in the form of:
